Let's Talk About ME! Too v1.0
(c) 1997 Davidson & Associates, Inc. and Simon & Schuster,
the publishing operation of Viacom, Inc.
____________________________________________________________
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
68040/33Mhz (Performa 5200 or higher)
12 MB available RAM
System 7.1 or higher
2x CD-ROM or faster
Installation:
1. Place the Let's Talk About ME Too! CD into your CD-ROM drive. A
window will pop open.
2. Double-click the Install Let's Talk About ME Too! icon. If you have
already installed the original Let's Talk About Me, then the installer
will install Let's Talk About ME! Too to the same folder. If you
haven't installed the original Let's Talk About ME!, Let's Talk About
ME! Too will be installed to a "Let's Talk About Me" folder on your
hard drive.
3. After installation, be sure you have the CD in the CD-ROM drive.
Open your hard drive, open the "Let's Talk About Me" folder (or the
folder where the original Let's Talk About ME! was installed), and
double click the Let's Talk About ME! Too icon, or double click the
About ME2 icon on your desktop.
Troubleshooting:
If you have extension conflicts, or are otherwise unable to run the installer,
you can copy the Let's Talk About ME! Too files yourself. Create a new folder
on your hard drive and name it "Let's Talk About ME". Open the Mac_Utils
folder on the CD and then open the Install folder. Copy everything from this
folder to the new folder you just created on your hard drive.
If you experience choppy sound or video playback, this may be caused by
using Virtual Memory. To see if Virtual Memory is on, open the Control
Panel folder in your System Folder, and check the Memory Panel. Virtual
Memory should be OFF for smooth sound/video playback.
If your system has 12 Mb of RAM or less, you may have to leave virtual
memory on to run the program.
To UNINSTALL Let's Talk About ME!:
1. Locate the folder containing the Let's Talk About ME! Too program and files.
2. Drag this folder to your trash and empty the trash.
Adding your pictures to the Salon-a-tron:
For the Salon-a-tron to find your pictures so you can include them in the
Hairmaster, they need to be in a specific folder. This folder is created for
you when you enter your name in the program.
1. Open the folder on your hard drive that contains the program (usually
Let's Talk About Me"). There will be a folder with your user name on it.
Open that folder.
2. Open the folder called "toTrim"
3. Copy your pictures into this folder
4. Your pictures must be in PICT format to be used with the Salon-a-tron.
5. When you go into the Salon-a-tron, a list of your pictures will appear.
The Salon-a-tron will function only when your monitor is set at 256 colors/8 bit.
To set your monitor to 256 colors:
1. Click on the Apple Menu in the menu bar.
2. Drag down to Control Panels.
3. In control Panels, drag down to Monitors or Monitors & Sound. Release the
mouse button.
4. If you have Monitors & Sound, click on the Monitors button if it is not
already clicked.
5. Under Color Depth, click on 256.
6. Close the Monitors or Monitors & Sound window
Memory issues with Salon-a-tron:
Salon-a-tron will import PICT (PCT) files for you to use in the Hairmaster Deluxe.
Please note that large pictures take more memory, and you may not be able to
import them. For example, if this program is running with 8 MB of memory, you
probably will not be able to import a picture larger than 400K. At a setting of
256 colors, a picture the size of the program window is around 300k, so most
pictures will work. Photographs over 500k will not be imported into the
program unless you have enough memory. 32 to 64 Mb will be enough, depending
on your machine and it's configuration.
Adding your pictures to the Diary:
You can add your own pictures into the Diary. Just follow the steps below:
1. Create a new picture that is 100x100 pixels in size.
2. Save your picture as a PICT file and name it Lxxxxxx.PCT. Your filename
has to start with an "L"!
3. Resize your picture to be 50x50 pixels in size.
4. Save your picture as a PICT file and name it Txxxxxx.PCT. Your filename
has to start with a "T" and the rest of the name has to be exactly the same
as the Lxxxxxx.PCT name. For example:
Lmydog.pct
Tmydog.pct
5. Copy both of these files into your PICS directory. To find the PICS
folder on your hard drive, open the folder called "Let's Talk About Me". There
will be a folder with your name on it. Open this folder. Then open the folder
called PICS. Copy both your files into this directory.
6. Go into the Diary and select My Pictures to see all the pictures can add to your
diary!
